Very much still available. I was just in B&N on Thursday, and they not only have a paperback but nice shiny new reproductions of the hardcover original, mit forward from Maurice Sendak in honor of TFT’s 35th anniversary.
And of course, part of the charm that we can’t illustrate here are the illustrations - Feiffer:Juster as Tenniel:Carroll, an essential part of the experience.
You are correct that I had neglected his dancer. OTOH, many of those, (individual Sunday panels), were painted in extreme sarcasm. And while he did paint non-sarcastic dancers, this was the only entire book of which I am aware that was done gently.
