Pharmacy Window Decoration Bottles

Old fashioned pharmacies used to have bottles filled with brilliant colored liquids, as a display.

What are they called, and how to mix up the fluids in them?

Apothecary jars? (don’t know about the colored fluids)

Show globes.

Also more here.

Bingo.

How can I make decorative item like this, safely?

Ah, the secret that has eluded alchemists for centuries.

  1. do not try to breathe the water
  2. if you break any glass, do not eat it

When blowing the molten glass, try not to breathe in.

Water + a few drops of food colouring. Wear safety goggles and protective clothing, and always ask a responsible adult for permission.

Don’t forget to bring your hazmat license to the store. Nothing more embarassing than getting turned away from a grocery store for lack of proper paperwork…

Anyone know how to turn lead into gold?

Yes.

Eureka!!!

OKAY, that’s plenty.

Like where is someone on the Dope going to find a responsible adult?

To obtain crimson food colouring, you must journey for seven days and seven nights across the burning deserts of Alarazin, there to face the Worm Incarnadine who dwells in the Vermilion Caves. Defeat him with Sepulchor, the Inchoate Sword, and claim Carnifex the gem that was forged in the fires of his heart. You must steep Carnifex for a month is the dew gathered in sliver bowls by twelve maidens each daybreak in the Forest Rufous, then distill the vermeil liquor in an alembic of the rarest fuchsia jade for a night and a day. This will yield you three drops, and three drops only, of the most precious crimson. Ask and adult to help you.

I don’t think you need an HL for water any more, you just need to be 18 years old.

Are you kidding? That stuff can be fatal in the wrong hands.

So, any luck getting the water colored?

I think he has succumbed to food dye poisoning. Maybe red dye #3 did him in.
