My roommate and I, staring hungrily at an empty fridge began to wonder. How much fraud is too much to get away with?
Say I was to buy a laptop, in the $1000 dollar range, and insure it against theft. Then I was to wait a good six months or so, then I was to report it stolen, and collect the cash, meanwhile I’d sold the laptop in the local rag or on Ebay. How would they catch me? I’d say if the new owner to it to be repaired later on or such, the serial number would get run through.
No need to tell me “Fraud is a very serious offence, don’t do it, they will catch you.” I couldn’t possibly bring myself to do such a thing. Not that I even need to, the fridge was filled this arvo. Not cheaply though ($107 cdn).
