A young lawyer I knew and once had the privilege of watching try an arbitration was killed by a repeat intoxicated driver in DC. This young man was a good lawyer and on the side of the angels.
People at my office were talking about the accident.
The whole story sucks. Sorry about your friend.
I’d only met him once and saw his lawyering, which was excellent, much more so when you consider he was a baby lawyer, and he and I exchanged emails on a case where we sort of shared a client. I respected him and his willingness to represent the little guy. That he is gone at 27 is a huge blow to his family, whom I never knew, and a blow to the judicial system the extent of which we will never know. So tragic. Anyway, thanks. My client sent me the article, and she is quite bummed too.
Please accept my condolences for your loss. A friend of mine was killed in DC in a hit-and-run. It was awful. I don’t know what else to say that’s helpful.
I’m okay. I really just want someplace on the internet that memorializes that another lawyer thought he was really good at what he did. Maybe someday it will comfort his family a little bit.
I knew him. Although we never met, we collaborated on stuff.
Small world, isn’t it?
I am Philip’s cousin and I wanted to thank all of you for thinking about his/our family. Philip was truly a blessing to everyone that knew him. His parents and sisters are just as wonderful as Philip and can use continued prayers. Thank you!

It’s always terrible when someone is taken so young, with so much life ahead of them. My condolences to your family.
I always feel a loss when someone I know a little bit dies. I feel so much that I missed the chance to get to know them better.
I especially find it sad that a drunk driver was the cause of his death.
So sorry for your loss. Life just isn’t fair, is it?
He’s gone ahead to undiscovered country, we may rest assured he goes with God, and take up the work he left unfinished.
