Phlsphr, I'm disappointed in you.

You racist bastard.

But he did want to kill the animal - just without a gun. Which strikes me as perverse.

[QUOTE=The Surb;12626602I have seen deer get up and run from accidents that should have outright killed them. I could see someone getting concerned about killing an animal that may get up and live. I have seen animals struggle and live, I have seen them struggle and die. I would hate to kill something that will live the same as I would hate to see an animal suffer.

I didn’t realize so many people here had the training and obvious judgment to decide. But some people here are just full of judgment.[/QUOTE]
No one here has made that judgment, nor have they been asked to.

And… kinda dumb, frankly. You have a gun; it’s needed. Use it.

Your understanding of animals could use updating. Note: That report has one major flaw: “This is the first time such behaviour has been seen in any animals except humans.” That gets repeated each time they learn something new about animals – see recent years when dolphins and birds were (separately) discovered to be using names for individuals and each study claimed “This is the first time such behaviour has been seen in any animals except humans” (including the second study, which obviously isn’t possible).

It seems to me to have a couple of other flaws as well. First, it assumes that if fish behave similarly to humans then they must be similarly motivated. I see nowhere that that was established. Also, it assumes that if fish behave differently near home than far from home, it must be because they they are aware of future consequences to present acts, essentially begging the question.

Check to see if your clock is set to MDST.

You are right that you posted not long after him – 23 minutes. But in his post, he said that the sun was coming up.

According to your calculations, when it is 10:13 in Nashville, what time is it in Boulder County, Colorado? Aren’t they on Mountain Time?

Google for a USA Time Zone Map. That’s what I used. Nashville is in the middle of Tennessee. There is no time zone between Central and Mountain the last time I checked.

If you are not on Daylight Savings Time, that would explain how you arrived at work at 8:00 am, read his post, and responded by 8:13 Mountain Time. Otherwise, you posted at 9:13 MDST. But no matter what your Time Stamp says, the sun would have been up for a while. It was not sunrise even if the mountains blotted out the sun for a while.

You are lucky to have such clean and clear air there – I guess. Whether or not the sun can turn newspapers yellow in a day’s time or melt a CD is irrelevant to anything I have presented in my arguments. Our mountains are much older than your mountains. So?

The point is that Phlsphr’s story is a little confused. You might want to read my first post again. Phlsphr and I are not the adversaries that people think we are.
