Photo printing service? [Winkflash is Dead, RIP]

Winkflash has gone out of business. I am inconsolable. :frowning: I’ve been using Winkflash since 2004 to print my photos. I loved them because they had “regular” sizes and the 3:4 aspect ratio versions of all the regular sizes (e.g., 4x5.3" as well as 4x6"; 5x6.5" as well as 5x7", etc.) I could get matte or glossy and I could control any crop (to a degree.) I could get white borders or not. Prices were great.

Now what am I going to do? I’ve spent most of the weekend trying to find a similar service. Online reviews prefer places that want $8.00 shipping for three photos! HA HA HA. No.

Where do you get your photos printed? Need answer fast.

I use mpix.com - the standard size/price for prints are:
Walletsx4 $0.70
3.5x5 $0.29
4x4 $0.29
4x6 $0.29
5x5 $0.89
5x7 $1.09
8x10 $2.09
8x12 $3.19
11x14 $7.49
16x20 $16.99

And they have a $3.95 US mail shipping option for small print orders.

I’ve dealt with their customer service a few times, the Stand Outs (prints mounted on foam core) are very fragile and prone to damage in shipping, and they’ve always been very good to deal with and sent replacements ASAP.

They have sales occasionally and, here’s a tip: if you leave an order in your shopping cart for a day or so, SOMETIMES they’ll email you and offer a discount if you pull the trigger. I think I got 15% off. Search the coupon code sites!

Yikes, I’m starting to see why Winkflash went out of business. (4x6s were 10 cents and shipping was never more than $2.)

I can’t figure out from the mpix website if the prints are glossy or matte. What is “E-surface”?

Thanks for the info.

E-Surface paper is considered a semi-matte finish. Useful, I know

And it’s hard to find, but Mpix does offer an “economy 4 x 6” for 19c.

Walmart, Walgreens, Sams Club, and COSTCO all offer printing services at reasonable prices. Upload to their site and pickup in the store shortly after. Sakes tax, but no shipping.
