If you order a custom item at a Canadian McDonald’s, they are pleased to tell you it is “Made For You”, and to show this they thoughtfully write MFY on the receipt, which no one could possibly interpret otherwise.
When you think about it, the McDonald’s gang - a clown, a thief, a politician and a purple thing named after the nasty expression you get when constipated - are exceedingly trippy.… I really can’t see someone coming up with that strange combination without considerable chemical help. They probably do all the public relations. But I sort of wish they’d bring back the cheap vanilla cookies they had for many years.
“Obsessed” to mean like or into. There’s a commercial for one of the streaming services that combines that with another of my pet peeves: “100%”.

I’d prefer BOGOF to BOGO, because BOGO is sort of like saying “Save up to 25% or more!” It never specifies what you’re getting the second one for, and sometimes it’s only half off. The phrasing always seems scammy to me even if it is a true buy one get one free most of the time.
Oh, yeah, one that really pissed me off was a package of ice cream that proclaimed “97% Fat Free!” No part of the ice cream would be “fat free”. There would be no way to take a mouthful of the stuff that was in any way “fat free”. They should have been fined for that bullshit.

Commercials that say, “We know how hard it is for you during these difficult times” or “We’re with you during these trying times.” Bitch, no you’re not. You’re just trying to emotionally sway me to buy your useless fucking product. I can see right through your shitty marketing.

Personally, I expect BOGO every time. If I see, say, a donut at the donut store, and I buy one, I’d be terribly upset if I didn’t get it.
I think what they’re saying is that the ice cream is only 3% fat, by way of using “fat free” and a high percentage as a way to imply something that’s not entirely true.
By the same token, you could say that bacon is 35% fat free.

Lately I am hearing people, when interviewed by news reporters, starting their sentences with “Yeah-no.” Not to be confused with “y’know” as in “you know.” But like saying “yes, no.” Without a pause between the two words, equal emphasis on both syllables.
Yes, I find it rather annoying. I hate these pretentious affectations that make language more difficult to understand. (Or maybe I should have said “Yeah, no, I find it annoying …” or maybe "No, yeah, no, I find it annoying …). It’s the same sort of affectation that causes teenagers to use “bad” to mean “good”, which is always terrific for expressive clarity. And of course calling someone a “badass” (which is not even a word) is supposed to be a high compliment that means “an admirable person of great accomplishment”.
