Pictures of Legends

Legends…those who are the top of their profession…their art…their athleticism…those who cannot be forgotten easily, even after a concussion. Pictures that show something akin to the Sun, the Earth and the Moon in perfect alignment…where you look at the picture and become awed. Each link provided here is what I would like to see, accompanied with one line to sum up the picture (link) provided. Legends that usually don’t hang around together constantly, but show up once in a lifetime at the same place, the same time and a camera there to document it. I was tooling around today and this picture reached my eyes and I realized just how good we had (and still have with 2 of the 3) in L.A. and beyond…Someone back East may not understand this pic, but when any of these three announced on the radio, you didn’t need a stinking TV to watch…you were immersed in the game in your mind.

Arguably, the three best announcers to their respective sport.

Bob Miller? The best in hockey? Maybe top 10, maybe. Can’t argue with Chick, however. Who is the third guy?

Vin Scully - longtime voice of the LA Dodgers.

Okay, he is pretty good as well. But can he do the Hully Gully?

Well, I did say arguably. But as a city, we had it good…that picture represents 120+ years of combined broadcasting experience. Miller is quite good, good enough to be scripted into movies. Call him the weakest link of the trio, but that’s not saying much.
