Pictures of Straight Dope Computer System?

Ah, the IT Crowd!
You, ladies and gentlemen, have answered my question admirably! I’ve never laughed out loud this many times in years!!
I humbly thank you…

Well, here’s the original server, but when the Reader got bought out, the new owners switched to a more budget-friendly model.

I don’t know how it is possible for so many people to be so incorrect about something like this.
Here is the authentic picture.

Finally! Proof of the GD server’s socialist bias!

“Great Scott! It’s school holidays in an election year! Quartermaster! Modding Wheel to full ahead!”

" That’s insane, Ed, and stop calling me Quartermaster! The Pedantry Tubes will overheat the Echo Chamber"

“Quiet! We’ll just have to hope the Multiquote Condenser holds together and the Spam Governor don’t fly apart!”

It is worthwhile noting that the nautical theme is entirely appropriate for this picture.

oh… :o

Clearly then, it’s responsible for containing occasional meltdown from the BBQ pit.

Oh, the shame!

Clearly you all underestimate the true geekiness of the Mod.s. The SDMB is not run on a mere computer system. It is an entity requiring a specialized mix of electricity, mineral oil, and live mysis shrimp.

Don’t know if anyone’s posted this yet, but here we have a photo of an actual hamster operating a SDMB server, or similar computational device.

You guys remember the last time the server went offline? The truth is out - it wasn’t for an upgrade. One of Ed’s searches got hung up, and well…

And FYI, here's the last admin meeting.

Ah Ed, you gotta watch that temper!
