Pinnacle Studio version 10, which version?

I got a free version of Pinnacle studio with my new video card. It seems pretty good and I was thinking about upgrading to version 10.

The question is which version would you recommend?

Studio plus looks like it has some cool features that are worth the extra money.
Studio ten media suite looks good but I’m not sure it’s worth it. It has audio editing and DVD and CD copying

Have any Dopers used these or have friends that do. Any reviews of the different versions and their features appreciated.

As of this point in time, I would go with Studio 9.0. Not 9.1 or the upgrades.
I just purchased 9.0 a few months ago and did considerable research on the product and it seems that most people have the best luck with 9.0 right out of the box.
10.0 is very new and is using a different engine. I would let the dust settle before purchasing 10.0. 9.0 can be had dirt cheap these days, and if works good on your machine, you’ll love it. It seems to have a bad rap for being a touchy program as far as freezing up during rendering and burning discs on some peoples’ machines. It does have tons of editing features and if you can get it to work smoothly on your machine, you’ll have fun with it.

Go to pinnacle.com and look for the user forums and search for the 10.0 threads. I haven’t done this (research on 10.0) since my software (9.0) works great and I don’t have the need to upgrade (yet).

Also, do some searching using the search terms >pinnacle 10 reviews< and see what comes up.
As far as the plus verses the media suite, I would stick with the plus version for now, unless you can upgrade for just a few bucks more. The plus version will have everything a beginner will need to get going and then some. That’s my opinion anyway.

PS,- The media suite version wont copy copy-right protected DVD, if that’s what you’re thinking…

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I hadn’t considered 9.
