Pioneer Days clothing suggestions (need answer fast)

I make jewelry and other items and I’m going to be displaying my work at a Pioneer Days festival. I just reread the brochure and I see that appropriate costume is suggested. Any quick ideas for a pioneer type costume that I can throw together? Right now the best that I can do is a SCAish corset, blouse, and long denim skirt but that doesn’t quite capture the essence of pioneer. I am plus-sized if that matters.

If you’re looking for really super-fast, get rid of the Ren Faire corset and get a calico voluminous apron with a bib to wear over the blouse and skirt. Either make a bonnet or wear a reasonable straw hat.

No corset. Think gingham; Little House on the Prairie…

The denim skirt will probably work fine with just your blouse, but a plain white apron (especially the kind that would go up, over your shoulders) would help the over-all look and perhaps you can pick up a bonnet from fellow vendors.

Well, I found an apron on clearance at Bed, Bath, and Beyond today and it’s more 50’s housewife than pioneer, but I guess it will have to do.
