Well @Jackmannii . When even the one being roasted for illogically abusing the no true Scotsman fallacy and others, tells you that there are many who are not imaginary; one has to realize that it is good to take the lurkers and other readers into account.
(Even I did modify and corrected some of my positions thanks to the SDMB)
I want to commend you for being open-minded enough to listen to the points of others and modify your thinking accordingly. Many people would rather die on whatever hill they are defending than admit they might have been in error.
You can also feel good about having a 900+ thread created for and centered around you. I think I’m jealous! LOL
Pfft. the SDMB has modified and corrected some of its positions thanks to me!
That was sarcasm. There are posters with that attitude, though. At least they think it should be that way judging by the endless rules-lawyering threads.
Fewer nowadays, thankfully
Taking what people say out of context is also something that makes you not a good person. Or if you don’t get what I was saying, maybe you’re also a moron.
The fuck? My ignore either timed out (didn’t think I had anything less than permamute) or broke.
So today, I get treated with Max’s absolute BS comment equating calling entire classes of groups dehumanizing / demonizing names, with calling professional asshole (empirical truth that) Donald Trump names.
Fuck you Max. I knew you were evil by your own admission, but I didn’t think you were that stupid or dishonest. Color me wrong.
Yeah, that was the double-shot of Max stupidity in one post. First there’s the “I, a non-oppressed person, will explain how everyone else should feel.” And then there’s the complete lack of understanding of the difference between a personal insult and othering a group of people.
Topped with a sprinkling of “sometimes it’s rhetorically useful to dehumanize people in order to make a point” which comes off as infuriating self-justification from a long-proven racist.
In fact, I think the stupidity is the root of everything. I don’t think he’s naturally hateful, but he’s reasoned himself into some hateful views because he imagines that he’s a deep thinker who follows his reasoning fearlessly to its logical conclusion.
I don’t remember The Ryan equating race to getting a tan. It’s a high bar, and yet that was easily the stupidest thing I read on the internet yesterday.
After a year, I’m still trying to figure out where you can get food delivered from 25 miles away.
As for tipping, it’s a flat 20% for me. Food delivery is a hard way to make a living, and more than one driver has had their directions be incorrect. I’ve even had to flag drivers down after watching them go past my house three times.
