Pitting the Bush Admin on Behalf of Bush-Backers (ME Reform)

There’re few expectations of finding the WMDs that were said to be a threat because Hussein could’ve given them to al Qaeda.

DCI Tenet has said that he’s not seen evidence of a meaningful or an “operational” relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda.

And, now, the call for sweeping reform of the ME plan has been round filed too.

Wha’s left as an ostensible benefit to the American public who’re funding the invasion and reconstruction of Iraq?

On behalf of any Bush-backers who’ve been waiting for the clarion call for drastic reform of the ME to come from the White House, I’m pitting the Bush Admin.

These Americans, these Bush-backers, have waited patiently and expectantly for your call for reform to be issued.
This was an integral part of the benefits to accrue to the American electorate from the expenditure of our blood and treasure.
This was part and parcel of the explanation as to how the invasion of Iraq was a central front in the War on Terror.
We were going to make America safe by remaking the ME to include it into the “democratic zone,” with countries like the UK, Spain and Israel.

So, "Fuck you Bush Admin for not issuing "a sweeping call for economic, political and cultural changes in the Middle East!"

So um… why do YOU want to be reformed?

ok I got what he was talking about when I went to the link, but honestly…

Well, because there will be no need to do so! Once Iraq is firmly established as a liberal parliamentary secular state made up of small shopowners and Starbucks entrepenuers, and the Sunni, Kurds, and Shia clasp hands around the fire to sing “Kumbaya, Allah, Kumbaya”, the miracle will become entirely manifest! All of the ME peoples will gasp with awe and wonder, and rush to dismantle such structures and traditions as might impede their access.

There may be certain minor drawbacks, of course. Traffic snarlups may well result as masses of Arabs march in “Gosh, we sure love America! And Bush!” rallies. More Marines may need to be deployed at our various embassies, to clear away the boquets and garlands flung upon our steps.

Hopefully, the Administration will not be too distracted by the massive clamor from the American people, demanding a “President for Life” amendment to the Constitution.

I am not a Bush backer on how he handled the war from March 2003 on, but since he is not going to invade Saudi Arabia, it actually makes sense to back off Crusader-like talk.

Fair enough, fair enough. I can see the logic of that.

What benefits have accrued to or will be accrued by the American electorate footing the not insignifigant tab for this foreign policy venture?

Bush went to Baghdad
And all we got are some crummy coffins.

That’s not enough.

Here’s the working draft of the leaked document:
G-8 Greater Middle East Partnership

Work on your reading skills.

Reforming the Middle east is still the plan; all that’s been toned down is the planned rhetoric at one conference.

elucidator,

“Well, because there will be no need to do so! Well said.

I am a right winger mostly republican voter who sometimes stares slack jawed at the partisian types who think that once a Democratic government is established in Iraq all will be peachy keen and the middle east will transform into the 2001 Aabian Nghts fantasy it once was with the additional blessing of liberty and justice for all.

That said, I think the Bush admin did what had to be done, sooner or later. It would have been nice to have had international support because without it, the little experiment in democracy of the middle east will fail. That would be a shame because those people deserve civil rights as much we do.

Anyone have any ideas on how to promote and encourage a free Iraq with out a bunch of partisian hacks pointing out how fucked up eah other are?

I do.

First the Bush admin admits “well yea, it basicly boils down to oil”. Then the US pus a few zillion dollars into the oil industry in Iraq and sits back and waits for the pay off. Not imperialism just plain ol capitalism, with guns.

With international oversight and investment the Iraqi people and the world will come out on top. The booming oil exports could fund a bonanza of construction and supporting business. That increased cash flow would stimulate the Iraqi and the world economy.

If we could only get rid of those pesky terrorists.

Just wanted to give props to SimonX for having the cojones to get past party politics and say “Things are being fucked up by the idiots on my side of the fence!”

Don’t think your turn ain’t comin

Given how limp-wristed the Democratic Party has been for the past twenty years, and how predominantly conservative American society is as a whole, I think it’ll be a lonnnnnnnng time before the Dems get enough power to fuck things up where I’m yelling at them for corrupting the country.

(Now, yelling at them for being ineffectual pansy-asses, that I do on a regular basis…)
