I have Shingles! not the nice kind that you stick to the roof either.

i have a frightening rash across my face and over my eyelid.

i’m a freak!
my face is so swollen i look like a chipmunk storing a softball.

the blisters will be there for 2 weeks!

on top of it, that means i can start counting down 'til my daughter breaks out with chicken pox.

(sigh) well, time for me to go terrify small children with my grotesque features

it will only be a matter of time before villiagers with torches and pitchforks storm my living room

Don’t worry, what you are experiencing is only a temporary condition. Give it a couple of weeks, and you’ll be right as rain. Nothing to worry about, nothing at all.

My youngest son, for some reason, gets a lot of “old people” diseases – like shingles (not that you’re old melanie (snicker)) and some rare eye disease that only very old people get.

My brother-in-law got shingles (on his thorax) and it was exceedingly painful – are you in pain?

Ugh- I had those as a kid! Only, I got them on my back too, and I had a back brace that rubbed against them. Agonizing!

I’m so sorry about the hives, have you ever tried taking Lysine for cold sores?? I have used it for a few years, and supposedly hives and cold sores are of the same strains as chicken pox. I take two of the 500 mg when I first feel a tingle at the corner of my mouth, if it continues, I up it two pills till it stops. This ISN’T a drug, it’s only a supplement, but you might want to give it a try to see if it eases your symptoms.

Whatever happened with the move your husband wanted, and is that still going on causing so much added stress?

I really feel for you. Had a mild case a number of years ago. It’s excruciating! About the best you can do is to keep reminding yourself that it is temporary. Hang in there!

no, we’re not moving any more. i talked him into taking some classes at the community college.
now he’s involved with that and isn’t talking about moving anymore.

he wants to take his vacation and visit her this summer, i made plans for disney months ago. but i guess i’ll back down on that one. disney will still be here next year and the kids will still be young.

i woke up this morning looking even scarier than yesterday.
i look like a battered wife. i told my mom i could walk into any police station and have anyone i want arrested
