I have a few photos I’d like to blow-up into poster form (about the size of a standard movie poster, or about the size of the ones that are sold at places like WalMart). Where can I get this done? And about how much should it cost?
I think Kinko’s does it, but I’m not sure how much that would be and if there would be a cheaper place.
$9.95 to get it scanned, color oversize print is $10 per sqft, according to my Kinky, erm, I mean Kinko’s wife. Any photoshop format high res scan (600 dpi) .tif .eps you can do at home would save the scanning fee.
www.ezprints.com will do 20x30 glossy (or matte) prints for $19.95. Not quite the same size as a standard poster (which would be 24x36) but not bad. ofoto.com is a few bucks more for the same size. Kinko’s would charge $40 for the same size, at the quoted rate.
Just chipping in that there are now also services that will print your custom design on canvas. It’s more expensive than a poster on paper, but still affordable - maybe in the $50-$150 range, depending on exact size. You may want to consider that, I have a print like that on my living room wall and find it way more classy than a poster (even a framed one).
