Places to buy toys downtown.

We are getting ready to come up to Chicago for our yearly trip and will be staying in the River North area. we are looking for some good places to buy some toys for the kids in the Mag Mile area. We have been to the Lego Store and to Hershey’s for candy in the past but would like to find a nice store that has a good selection of toys. Unique toys would be even better.

Thanks for any suggestions.

You can find some very unique toys (and other stuff) at the Christkindl Market in Daley Plaza.

Unfortunately, pickings are slim downtown for toys. Best to make a short taxi or train ride to one of these places.

Disney Store on State Street.

Oh wait, you said in the Mag Mile area. Yeah, I dunno.

Also, what are the kids ages? Lots of cool stuff at American Science & Surplus, but that’s out on the Northwest Side, requiring a train ride + a short taxi (or bus) ride.

Mr D,
That store looks awesome. And we will be hitting the Christkinle Market. Thank you for the info.

I love Marbles, which is right in Water Tower Place. They also put in a board game store on the top floor if your are interested (although there are better board game stores in Chicago).

There is a Disney Store on the Mag Mile. It’s right on Michigan Avenue, I believe just south of Chicago Avenue.

And I’d be surprised if Water Tower Place didn’t have lots of good stores for toys; I just don’t remember them as they aren’t on my radar.
