Places to donate homemade, costume jewlery?

I have recently gotten heavily into making costume jewlery. It’s very soothing and relaxing. I do a little every day.

As a result, I have been making a lot of stuff. I will give some of to friends, wear some of it, but honestly, there’s no way I’ll be able to wear it all.

Is there a place I can donate this stuff? A woman’s shelter? To kids in need? Any thoughts?

Amateur theatres.

How about a cancer ward? Cheer up a woman by giving her something pretty to wear with no strings attached =)

Womans shelter is also a good suggestion, or to random people you know =)

How about rest homes? Senior citizens may have had to liquidate they jewelry, or gave to to their children before they died. They might like something sparkly.

Goodwill, or thrift shops that benefit hospitals/charitable organizations - they will re-sell it and use the money for the charity.

Some schools and charities host “bake-sale” tables at festivals and craft shows, if you donate the jewelry to them, instead of selling cookies and brownies they could sell your jewelry to raise money.

I am SUCH a dork. I work for a charity and didn’t think of donating it to another charity to sell. I won’t donate it back to my own, but to a cause that is a little closer to my heart.

I have the same problem. I have been thinking of just giving some of it to Goodwill, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Maybe this thread will motivate me!

You’re a much better person than me; I started selling mine when I made too much to wear or give to friends. I might look at giving some to charities now, you’ve inspired me!
