Planet of the Apes....Movie

I am totally confused about this new movie Planet of the Apes.What is the story about the ‘Ion Storm’ did he go back in time or into the future?If he was on earth how come there were 2 suns?Maybe the answers are simple but I can’t seem to figure them out…

There are several threads on this movie over in the IMHO forum (recent ones may have moved to Café Society).

Believe me, they contain everything you want to know about this subject.

A few conclusions:

  1. The movie has a different plot than the first version
  2. The planet is not Earth, but some random Earth-like planet where the humans and the apes landed. Nobody is sure where the horses come through though. Presumably they were on the spaceship too.
  3. The evil apes travelled back in time and took over planet Earth, re-decorating Washington, D.C in the process. There is also some lurid speculation that the P of the A apes may have coupled with regular Earth apes to achieve sufficient numbers for their takeover (hot monkey sex, woo hoo!).
