I am planning a trip to Brazil in a few months and am wondering if anyone has suggestions of places to stay in Buzios and Fernando de Noronha. I am going with 7 other people, so we are interested in anything from a house to hotels. Thank you!
I think there’s only one hotel on Fernando de Naronha, and we didn’t stay there when we went. We stayed in a pousada (I think the Posauda Dois Irmãos). A pousada is pretty much a private house which rents out rooms- not first-class accomadation, but you’re pretty much just gonna sleep there. I have no idea about the hotel, but I bet it’s expensive.
I didn’t plan the trip, so I can’t really help with specifics. Sorry.

I was in Buzios a couple of months ago. It’s a quaint little town with great beaches but it is extremely touristy. I’m not sure what you seek in a vacation but if you want a quiet, sleepy little town, Buzios is not the place for you. If you want partying late into the night, getting over your hangover on beautiful beaches in the morning and shopping and great restaurants in the evening, Buzios is the place for you.
Mrs. H and I stayed at a great place just a few blocks from downtown and one block off of the beach. I can’t remember the name and Mrs. H isn’t answering her work phone right now so I’ll give you the name this evening.

Thank you for the info Haj! Your description of Buzios sounds perfect for my group! They are definitely the party all night recover on the beach types. I am looking for a nice hotel though and appreciate your suggestion - I will check it out!
