Playful, adorable dog needs good home.

My gramma’s Yorkie is thisclose to a nervous breakdown.

The cats won’t come out of hiding.

This dog is a one year old Rott/Heeler mix (a guess), on the smaller side, too playful for a 9 year old Yorkie terrier, too jumpy for the cats, and just not a good fit for this household. She’d be great for a single person, or a household with children at or above 3 years old, as she’s a bit hyper. She gets along great with my 3 year old son.

So I ask, is there anyone in or around Coffeyville KS who would like to take her? She’s had her shots, she’s had one litter of pups already and is not spayed, and I’m willing to pay a part of the cost to get her spayed if it’ll get her a good home. She comes with a purple collar, food and water dishes, toys, treats, a blanket, and a bag of Purina.

She likes being outside during the day, and she sleeps sprawled out across my legs at night. She absolutely refuses to potty in the house; she will whine and hop around until she gets outside to do her business.

She looks a cutie - not sure the thread title is helping your cause, it makes her sound to be a real problem when all she is is too energetic for the rest of the four legged ones. Wish I could help.

She really is cute. Why don’t you ask a mod to change the thread title to something like “Really cute, playful dog needs good home?” I don’t know anyone in your part of the country, or I’d send this URL around to people I know.

I thought about the way the title sounded after I went to bed last night. I’ve asked for it to be changed.

There was a lady that was supposed to take her a couple weeks ago, but she’s been giving me the run around about it, so I’ve given up on that one. Other than that, I can’t find anyone who’s looking for this kind of dog. Everybody wants one they can carry in their pocket.

May I suggest Craigslist or Petfinder?

Craigslist is free, although I don’t know which one is closest to your area.

With Petfinder I think you have to pay for an account, but in my experience anyone who breeds animals has an account. Find a friend with a purebred pet and get the name of their breeder; if you ask, I’m sure they’ll be happy to place an ad for you.

Craigslist’s closest city to my town that I could find on their site is over 3 hours away.

Perfinder let me post a free listing which is only viewable by paying members. They wouldn’t accept a “free to good home” ad, they required that I ask for an adoption fee to help ensure that she goes to good people, so I asked for $50 to help cover the cost to spay her.

Thanks for the links!

Have you thought about obedience training? You can get some good from Petsmart if that’s something you’re willing to consider before giving up on her.

Petfinder Classifieds are **free ** for posting animals in need of home. The only thing you CANNOT do is say the dog is free to a good home. Say the dog goes only with a gift to charity…Used them a coupla times for lost pets, foster dogs and when looking for pets. Good place to start. Be sure to post the links to the picks in the ad for better response. Good luck.

good help from Petsmart…
:smack:

She’s pretty well trained, she just still has a lot of puppy in her.

I wouldn’t call it giving up on her, but I don’t think it’s fair to make Libby, who’s been around for 9 years and is starting to show her age, deal with a hyper dog who’s almost three times her size and much stronger. I’m trying to look out for both of them here.

Poor choice of words on my part - I should have said giving up on being able to keep her.
I know some people who’ve had good outcomes with obedience training for dogs that were just too rambunctious. It didn’t change their personalities, but helped with the jumping on everything in sight (which sounds like your problem).

Definitely post a craigslist ad! Lots of people in the surrounding areas of the city use the site.

I’m almost an hour away from SF’s and use it all the time.

Also, my co-worker found a dog on some site, not craigslist, but anyway, drove 6 hours to Nevada to pick him up because she wanted him so badly.

She sure is adorable!

She doesn’t really jump on the little dog, she just wants to play, and by that I mean she wants to bat the little one around with her paws and bump foreheads. And I don’t think any amount of training would make the cats like her…they run for cover at the first swish of her tail, and they’ve started missing the litter box on purpose. Missed it by an entire room a few times.

On preview - I just finished posting an ad on Craigslist.
