Playing CDs through a HI-FI

I bought a 70s vintage hi-fi at a garage sale last saturday. It has a turntable, FM stereo receiver, and 8-track. All the components work. Is there any way to run a CD player through it? If it had a cassette player, of course I would just use a converter. Is there some way to do the same thing with the 8-track?

Does it have an auxillary input, or a tape input?

I checked and didn’t find any. The speaker wires don’t plug in to the back, they go through the back cover plate. I’m not sure about the 8-track or the turntable. I’d have to unscrew it from the case to find out.

Something like this Emerson product might work. It plugs into the headphone jack on a cd player and broadcasts in fm to your radio. There are other makes and models available.

This looks like it just might do the trick. The less messing around with wiring, the better. Jeez, what will they think up next.

I had (probably still do, somewhere) a gizmo that let you play cassettes in an 8-track player. Presumably one could connect it up with a cassette-to-CD converter. How contrived would that be?
