Playstation 1 question

How do I unlock the hidden characters in the games? Completing them doesn’t seem to work.

P.S. for about $100 you can get a Playstation and a billion games that simply rock. Then I’ll get a PS II when the PS III is out. Lots of fun for little money.

It depends on the game. Here is someplace to go to get you started.

I like this place because they will usually give you the cheats along with hints and tips.

I’m like you. Why shell out all that money for a PS 2 when there are so many PS 1 games yet to play.:stuck_out_tongue:

I think that http://www.gamefaqs.com/ is a much better gaming site. The hints are better written, better organized, and they DON’T have those nasty popup ads. Gamefaqs also has a LOT more games listed.

I upgraded to a PS2 because my poor PSX was just about worn out. Why should I pay to get it repaired? I wanted a PS2, though I resisted the first wave.

Incidentally, if you have a PS2, you’ll need PS1 memory cards for PS1 games.

As long as I can get Dance Dance Revolution for my PSX or PS2, I’m happy. Just felt like saying that. If you haven’t picked it up, do so.

I did the exact same thing. When the wave of PS2, Gamecube, XBox came out, I avoided them all. But when the price of PSX dropped to $50 I went out and bought one. Then I picked up FFIX, Vagrant Story, CronoCross, and Legend of the Dragoon. I then later picked up FF: Chronicles and FF: Anthology. Hundreds of gameplay hours at a fraction of the cost.

For what it’s worth, I’ve already beaten FFVII, FFVIII, and FFT on other people’s sytems and didn’t feel compelled to buy them.

Lastly, Gamefaqs is a great place to learn absolutely everything about games. If it isn’t in one of their walkthroughs for the game, you can always ask people on each game’s messageboard. The people are generally friendly but can get pretty snippy if you don’t check the FAQs first.

Another good thing about buying old video game systems is that the hardware gets smaller. I bought one of those little PSOnes for $50. It’s so cute! The whole system is barely bigger than the CDs you put in it.

Same thing happened in the waning days of Atari 2600, after NES came out. Remember the tiny little black Ataris that looked so much cooler than the old, large ones with fake wood-grain on them?
