I was wondering what Sony would do to make up for the fuck up. I was thinking maybe PSN credit for downloadable content or something along those lines. But no. Did you hear that noise? I think it was the executives over at X-Box all cumming in their pants.
Sony Online Entertainment - their MMO division - went down this morning too. Sony is now saying that at least 12,700 credit card infos were lost to hackers. Sony Online Entertainment is separate from their Playstation Network and Quriocity servers (whatever the hell that is. That’s a name that’s just begging to be hacked.)
Sony claims the numbers belonged to non-US cards, with some in Japan and some European countries being affected. They don’t mention if it related to only one game or several.
If you play Everquest or any of their Station MMO’s - you’ll want to keep an eye on your credit statement.
They’re also going to be offering a free download - just like Microsoft did when they offered the shitty Undertow when they were having outages for 2 weeks.
There are people with handfuls of PSN accounts to game various…games. They’re never going to give out cash per account.
