As a side note, if you park on a (not gentle) slope, you should turn the steering wheel (and thus the front wheels) towards the curb. That way if the car starts rolling for any reason, it won’t go far.

This takes a few seconds of your time and will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are looking out for other peoples’ safety.

If you park in a driveway with the wheels turned to either side it won’t roll out into the street (and across the sidewalk) in the event of a brake failure.

Marley: Are we to understand that you’ve been driving the vehicle around knowing that the emergency brake doesn’t work?

Since I bought it in March, yes. Now that I think about it, I have no idea how it passed the temporary inspection back then. I should get in touch with those people.

Question to Marley23: Were you able to see the inspection sticker and note it’s expired status while seated in the vehicle as operator?

It was somewhere I could see it, yes. I didn’t think to check because I didn’t know the inspection was temporary.
