I have a coolant leak and it does not appear to be the radiator. Hoses are clean and at first glance it appears to be leaking at the oil sump gasket but I know that can’t be right. There’s almost no coolant on the block above the sump. I suspect it is a bad water-pump and even if it’s not, it should probably be replaced soon anyways.

It’s really hard to poke around without removing hoses and put it on a lift. So what do you think, bad water pump or should I be looking somewhere else?

not being able to see your vehicle, but going on your description I’d tend to agree. coolant running out of the “weep” hole on the water pump, down the front of the block.

If the water is in your oil then it could be a cracked head. If it over heated it may have cracked a head. Easy enough to see if there is water in your oil.

This. The same thing happened to me recently. I was scratching my head as I couldn’t see coolant anywhere except coming from around the engine. It looked like someone filled the oil with pure coolant and it was exploding out from the oil pan gasket, but upon close inspection I finally found a tiny streak under the water pump in a little nook where I could barely see it and that’s where it was all coming from.
