I followed the rules too. I think I’ll add “do not open” to all my thread titles in future, it seems to guarantee a good response 
Anyway, it was OK because I managed to get back to the forum index before anyone else had opened the thread.
Previews do not increment the views count. At least they don’t for the OP.
As to whether previews of subsequent posts do, that would be very hard to test.

Well if you were to go to the staff reports forum and open one of the threads with 28 posts you could construct a post, preview a few times without posting and then check the main page of the forum to see if anything changed.
