This is story I found on the internet about a young girl who was effected by a drunk driver. Please take a second and look at this site and post your reaction.
That really truly made me cry. Oh my goodness. Drinking and driving is so horrible. It’s so unfair for that poor girl.
I can’t stop crying.
lillyflower, I went out tonight to a friends place for a party, and seeing that, combined with Mr.Insomnia calling me, made me stay another couple of hours.
PS. Yes I was online at a party. I think I need a vacation.
Of course I ment stay and sober up before I drove home. My life, my daughters, and other people’s are nothing to be played with.
I applaud her courage for the PS campaign:

And her website: http://www.helpjacqui.com/home.htm
Horrible story.
It seems they are seeking donations.
yeah a friend of mine died back in February when a guy passed over the cement border that separates the lanes that go different directions and was going down the wrong side of the road and slammed into his car which was a small sport car at 70mph! The guy who hit him was a fucking doctor , a toxicologist no less. I hope he fucking dies. My friend was only 18 his graduation would have been this saturday
You know, I’m a totally jaded, cynical, seen-it-all, wore-out-the-T-shirt type of girl.
But. When I first saw those pictures (probably six months ago), I literally shoved myself back from my desk in horror. Immediately after doing so, I felt horribly ashamed, and went on to read her website and information.
I, too, applaud her PSA. Maybe it will be one that actually works.
I recall a friend telling me of a time when she was in college. She and her roommate had hosted her roommate’s boyfriend and a friend of his for a dinner, movie, and a few drinks. At the end of the night the friend wanted to go home but was still a bit tipsy. He insisted he was ok to drive, but my friend and her roommate stood firm and told him he should crash on the sofa and drive home the next day. He began to be beligerant and demand that they stop “nagging” him and that he was going to leave. My five foot, ninety-eight pound friend took his keys away from him, tossed them in the trunk of his car and slammed the lid. Then she turned around and said “You’re going nowhere tonight. We’ll call a locksmith tomorrow and I’ll pay to have your trunk opened then.”
Bless you Deb. The world needs more people like you.
Enjoy,
Steven
Damn, I’m at the library and I’m going to have to leave now. I want to cry in private.

i have always thought that the scars a burn victim bears is the outer sign of the inner strength, grit, guts, determination, and sheer will inside. the worse the scaring, the more of the inner qualities.
she has gone through, and continues to go through so much to live.
It takes a lot to make me well up, I didn’t think it was possible. but the right music happened to be playing at the time… Adagio for strings.
While it needs a warning. I hope the mods don’t remove that link as it sends an important message.
It needs to be shown to those bastards who drive like idiots even when not drunk. I may create a lot of pit threads, but very few things truly piss me off. Drunk drivers and speeders are near the top of the list. The sheer ignorance to the danger of their behaviour leaves me speechless. It’s on the same level as juggling loaded guns.
Thanks so much for that story Mtgman! It is people like that I consider hero’s. Your friend displayed an amazing amount of frienship. This story that I OP had me so moved and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since. I hope more people get to read the thread and realize what they are doing when they have even one drink. I think this story will stick with me for the rest of my life. I am not usually preachy about this sort of thing, but when it comes to drinking and driving, you are hurting more than just yourself. Thanks for everyone who has posted reactions so far, I hope we get more people to read the story
