To beckwell: Job’s are a group of girls who are between the ages of 10 and 20 that are taught confidence and leadership skills. Trust me, I’m a member. The rituals of all Masonic organizations can be found at just about every library. the only things not in there are the secret work but the only thing that is are the obligation the initiate have to take and other littel stuff. It’s really not important.
Job’s Duaghters is an international organization. I think Canada was the first to make it international, but now there’s also Australia, Brazil, and many others. The Miss International this years is from Brazil.
Many of the girls do play sports. One of the girls in our group is on her schools wrestling team. I’m a writer and so is one of the other girls.
Most of what the Job’s do is charity work. It’s not like the adults lock us up and keep us hidden from the world. Ever heard of MIChIP? It’s the Michigan Child Identification Program. It helps to record information about kids and give it to their parents in case the child goes missing. It’s run by Masons. HIKE? Hearing Impared Kids Empowerment. Another charity the Job’s help out with. In Michigan, the girls do the annual Mackinaw Bridge Walk in order to help raise money for this.
Why does everyone think we’re a cult? None of what we do is secret. How would we get more member that way? You can google the Job’s Daguhters offical website. We also have a Twitter feed and a Facebook page. We’ve also got a few billboards up. If we were trying to be secret, we wouldn’t have that. You can go and find our ritual in a public library if you really wanted to read it. Or, most of our initiation is in the Bible, the book of Job to be exact.
Our meeting are basically a business meeting. We only dress in the white robes so that we see that we are all the same. It’s the same reason for why we have to wear a skirt to the meetings. The ceremony aspects are changed based on the majority of the religion in the Bethel. I know of several Jewish Bethels out there. There are also a few Muslim ones. I met a few of those girls over the summer at our Supreme Session.
The point is to teach girls how to be good leaders and teach them confidence. We have elections every six months to pick whos going to run the meeting’s next and rotate everyone around into different positions. It’s just liek a business meeting. Roll Call and minutes are read, we have a tresurer who reads off how much money we have. We have new business, unfinished business and all the other stuff one might find. One girl leads the meetings and the rest each have their own little parts. Everyone says at least one part in the meeting, out loud in front of everyone to build confidence.
To Winston Smith: A “Mason in good-standing” simply means that they’ve paid their dues. They don’t have to be well known. My dad is a Mason but all he does is pay his dues. he doesn’t even go to the meetings.
As I explained above, most of the girls do some sort of extracirricular activity. One girl is in wrestling. Another is constantly missing meetngs due to volleyball. A third never comes because between work and college she just doesn’t have time. I do piano and I write a crazy lot.
To tygre: It’s not a hirearchy and I don’t apreciate you saying so. It just spreads around things that are not true and causes people to fear soemthing they shouldn’t.
To RTFirefly: You’ve gotta look at the message of the story, not what happened in it.
To Spiratu: That’s just rude and offensive. If Masonic organizations were trying to take over the world, we’d have done it already. The Masons’ have been around longer than the modern governments.
To cginnemanj: Thank you. At least two of us know what we’re talking about.
