This Yahoo article mentions a scene in Mad Men in which a pre-teen actress
I’m a little confused. I’m not a prude (far from it), but the idea of a basic cable TV show doing such a daring scene without there being tons of righteous indignation about it from the right*, doesn’t add up.
What’s the context?
*FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m not trying to make a political jab in CS. It’s just that whenever there’s righteous indignation about something in popular culture, usually it comes from the right.
ETA: I’ve never seen an episode of Mad Men, in case it isn’t obvious.
If that’s the scene they’re referring to, you don’t actually see anything. Sally is sitting on the sofa in a darkened room, watching TV (a scene from The Man from UNCLE, in which David McCallum is chained up). There’s a close-up of her hands on her knees, scrunching her nightgown (but not pulling it up), then a close-up of her face–then the lights suddenly come on and the mother shouts something along the lines of “What are you doing?”
