I remember a “sword-and-sandal” fantasy from the 80’s where the hero was seeking a book that supposedly contained the answers to all the problems of the world. He went through the typical conflicts and hardships until he got to a monestary on top a mountain where the book was kept. When he opened the book it turned out that every page was a mirror. The lesson being, of course, that “the answer to all the world’s problems is … you!” The guy laughed hysterically and that was the end of the movie. So… anyone remember this?

Wow. I’m drawing a complete blank on this one. Doesn’t sound even slightly familiar, but I find it fascinating that it was apparently so obscure that neither of us have heard of it.
