Please Help. I Need Legal Advice???

I have been indicted on federal charges and i dont understand the federal sentencing guidelines or what sentence im really looking at. I just want to know what im really looking at time wise. My lawyer is not really telling me much. I just need a plain english answer.
Ive been indicted on title 18, United states Code, Sections 371, 2319 and 2 and title 17, United states Code, Section 506 (a) (1)

1st time offender, Non Cooperator, 1.1 Million in accused theft.

Thank You

The only legal advice you’re likely to get on here from anyone who would actually know what they’re talking about is this: “Call a local lawyer.”

I have and still no one explains in english.

Your username is certainly appropriate. Talk to another lawyer if the one you have currently engaged does not seem forthcoming.

Good luck.

Look it up here.

Frankly, you’re not likely to get much more help than that…

You have been indicted for stealing, reproducing and selling counterfeit music and you turn to a legitimite computer message board for help?

Hmmm…what’s wrong with this picture?

Other items.

The problem here is that no lawyer worthy of the title is going to give you legal advice over an internet message board, because every case is different. Anyone who WILL give you advice over an internet message board is probably someone you don’t want advice from. You’ll be on much firmer ground in understanding what you’re facing if you demand plain English from someone who’s already on the ground there and knows your case.

This is probably not a scenario where you want to be concerned about looking like an idiot to your lawyer. If you don’t understand what you’re facing, ask. If you still don’t understand after s/he explains it to you, ask him/her to explain it more clearly in plain English instead of legalese. If your lawyer can’t give you an answer that satisfies you, find another one.

A message board (even one as wonderful and ignorance-fighting as the SDMB) is not the place to ask for an explanation of your particular legal case.

Please consult a local lawyer for further advice. This is closed.
