Back in the 1970s, I purchased a travel game which was fairly interesting to me at the time. I remember a lot about the game, but not the name of it. I tried searching and even using AI to ID it. No joy. Here’s what I remember about the game.
-
Game type: Abstract, turn-based.
-
Players: Two.
-
Pieces: Each player is supplied with a set of pieces: rods, solid cylinders, and hollow cylinders.
-
Board: NxN board (I think it was 8x8) holes, each hole hass two depths to facilitate placement of pieces.
-
Movement: On a player’s turn, the player places one of their pieces onto the board. A solid cylinder can only be placed in an empty hole, a rod may be placed in an empty hole or inside a hollow cylinder of either player. An empty cylinder may be placed in an empty hole or where a rod of either player is.
-
Winning: The player makes one of a short number of formations of their own pieces. It does not matter if the other player’s pieces are in the same holes as the winning formation.
Anyone know of this one?
