I saw a clip of this recently and was disturbed enough that I can’t forget it.
It’s a late-'80s or early-'90s American thriller, with nobody famous that I knew. It could well be a made-for-TV or straight-to-video effort.
The only scene I saw was set in the desert (US) and featured a young woman, hidden in long grass, watching a young man she knows lying by a nearby tree. Another man drives up in a 4x4 and, without saying a word, ties chains from the man’s arm and leg to the back of the vehicle. He then guns the engine and the victim is ripped limb from limb while the woman (his girlfriend?) watches in horror.
It freaked me out, and I’d be interested to know what the film was.
I haven’t seen it, but from your description, it sounds like a scene from “The Hitcher” with alltime great badguy Rutger Hauer. A friend of mine described the scene to me in sickening detail. Can anyone verify?
I have a feeling this is a later film. It’s a man being killed, and the vehicle wasn’t a truck (I’ve heard that in The Hitcher it’s a woman and two trucks). Ta anyway!
well it’s NOT the Hitcher. That scene was in the end of the movie and was with a girl between two semis. The bad guy knew he was a gonner but wanted to take the girl with him so when he died he would release the clutch and rip the girl in half. don’t remember one like the OP talks about.
