There is a certain kind of rap - I guess it counts as rap - that I like very much. The thing is, the style seems to be a very small segment of rap as a whole. I’d love some new albums, but I don’t know what to buy, so I’m looking for advice.
Some songs that I know that I like are:
Spite and Malice by Placebo
Heat’s theme and Strike’s theme from Bust a Groove 2
Mansion on the Hill by A3
Any help would make me very happy.
G. Love & Special Sauce’s self-titled album.
M.C. Solaar’s album Prose Combat. He’s French and so is his rap, but don’t worry about that. The rythm of his voice and the music are fantastic. His later albums that I’ve heard seem to become more Americanized and West-coasty and aren’t nearly as good as Prose Combat.
Jurassic 5’s album Quality Control.

For quality rap, I always suggest Jurassic 5 and G.Love and Special Sauce. Cool that js_africanus beat me to it!
Okay, thanks for the suggestions, I’ll start there.
I know that my example songs aren’t anything that the average Joe has probably heard. It’s just that I have no idea of what else is good. All of the songs have really heavy beats and they’re not…mean, I guess. Just awesome songs.
