Please help me identify a pill my GF took

I am having trouble identifying a pill my girlfriend took last night. (Yes, this was stupid of her-- and believe me… I have let her know that in no uncertain terms.) I am concerned that she may have messed herself up-- especially since she was drinking a fair amount too.

At least she wrote down the writing on the pill, though she doesn’t remember what it looks like other than it was a small capsule with one side a light color and the word “ETHEX”, the other side was a different color and had “041” written on it.

I have been searching online for a few hours and have consulted an illustrated pill book but have found no information on the pill.

She seems to be feeling ok (other than a hangover) but I am really worried about what it is she took. (BTW, she took two of them.)

I would really appreciate help from any doctors, pharmacists or anybody who can identify this pill.

Thank you very much.

Ethex is a manufactuing brand. I’m vaguely aware that they make heart meds. Dunno what else they make.

Let me get this straight - she had the presence of mind to write down the writing on the pill and she remembers the color of the pill, but she can’t seem to remember why she took the pill or what it’s for? uh… sorry if I seem a little thick, but - huh? Why not call the pharmacy or doctor that prescribed the pill?

radar-- she got the pills from a friend who told her they were “pain meds.” Even though she was stupid enugh to take a pill that wasn’t prescribed to her and that she didn’t recognize, she did write (on her hand) what was inscribed on the pill so she could perhaps identify it later. We have both been unable to do so.

I did find the Ethex site online, but they had no specific inormation about this particular pill.

Ah, here is a list of their product-line.

Oxycodone:

I was pawing through the ethex site as Eats_Crayons posted a link to it.

Oxycodone HCl Capsules, 5mg CII.

Oh, sorry, didn’t hit preview before I posted.

I Love Me, Vol. I - Okay. Does the friend have phone?

Hey, how didja get the search to work?

I didn’t. I just pawed through the list under “pain management”.

Thank you for your help. I went to their site and tried to do a search but couldn’t get anywhere. I tried looking under “pain management” too, but it wouldn’t link. I feel bad asking for help with something that was so easy for others to find.

I don’t imagine oxycodone goes too well with booze, but at least it doesn’t have acetimenaphen (sp?) in it (does it?) I have to say I am somewhat relieved in that she at least was taking what she thought she was taking. On the other hand, she and I have a serious talk coming up on why she would do this in the first place.

In the US it’s a potent schedule II narcotic, and quite illegal to transfer to anyone other than the person for whom it is prescribed. It’s highly abused in the drug addict community.

The problem is that it goes TO well with booze. You’ll end up with someone that’s WAY to drunk for their own good. Especially if they’ve already been drinking all night. Could result in some major problems (ie death).

I must say for the record that I don’t condone this etc etc etc… And by your OP I have to assume that you don’t. I don’t know your GF and don’t know if she’s likely to do it again, but you may want to tell her that if she does, at the very least take it before drinking, this way she either won’t need to drink on top of it all, or will be able to regulate her drinking to accomodate for the narcotics.
