Please help me identify this object.

While I am sure that there is a factual answer to this question, I am quite sure that there will be much conjecture and rousing debate and so I place the thread here.

Here is the story. As our Sales manager was opening the crisper of the company fridge this object fell out (she sort of pulled the crisper too fast so we don’t know if it was in it somehow or behind it or what). We are pretty sure that it goes to the fridge, as there have been some water issues (inside and a little on the floor) but for the life I me I can not see anywhere that the object would fit.

Also note that the object is actually in two parts. The part with the prongs is threaded and the part with the “bell” can screw into it. It seems to be designed with a variable length in mind (although that is just an educated guess).

I must admit that this has captured my imagination for some odd reason and is driving me mad!

So, I ask you Dopers: What the heck is it?

Looks like a shelf support. I’ve seen similar doo-dads holding up the front center of the bottom shelf right between the drawers.

WAG, it’s a stanchion that supports the front center corners of the lower shelves. The
shelves in turn have drawer guides on the undersides for the two storage bins.

Well, that kind of screws my rousing debate theory but in looking at the appliance this seems to be factually true. Thanks!

Does it have an icemaker? Two of the middle items look similar to the ones you have.

Make of fridge and model number would be very helpful to nail it down for certain.

Ok, NOW I see that your cow-orker pulled it from the refridge side by the crisper.
