I would like to thank everyone who responded with suggestions to try an help. After some experimentation, it seems it is likely the steel AC duct expanding and contracting. There is a huge temperature differential as it runs below my room, as the uncooled garage is below my room. Turning off the AC removed the sound. Turning it back on brought it back.

Or it could be a cold cricket.

Or maybe Death is too cold…
