The Nation of Islam expects its members to adhere to the Five Pillars.

Not entirely, since they define the prayer requirements differently and they can’t go to Mecca. They also have a completely different Sharia, prophetic authority, mythological history and theological principles.

The Christian Identity (white supremacist) movement calls itself Christian too, but it really isn’t.

Also, Christians use the Hebrew Bible, but that doesn’t make them Jews.

NOI is a distinct religion from traditional Islam.

Isn’t it the job of HR to determine the severity of this infraction and balance it against the employee’s history and deal with him accordingly? He’s spreading hate. Maybe it didn’t affect you, but that’s what it is, and he’s using company time and company resources to do so. If that gets him fired and has a negative repercussion on him and he has to bust his hateful ass to keep food on the table for his poor little kids, it would be his own damned fault. Dealing with this sort of thing is outside of your purview. Report him.

The OP asked for help rebutting the email, not encouragement to be a wussy tattletale. Surely you can provide more constructive advice than “Report him.” (I love that Orwellian, quake-buttock phrasing.)
