Dear Straight Dope Message Board Members & the Teeming Millions:
I Need help with a song on Dish Network audio Channel 973: Easy Instrumentals.
The song is a “baroque-like” modernly-written classical piece that is very moving, that has a trumpet and a piano.
Song played:
-
April 10, 2009 at 12:34 PM Eastern time- Channel 973
-
March 24, 2009 at 9:15 AM Eastern time- Channel 973
-
March 6, 2009 at 12:01 PM Eastern time- Channel 973
It has a trumpet and a piano and lasts about 3 minutes.
As a lover of classical music of the “Baroque” period for many years, I know that this particular piece was not written back then (Bach’s time), but a modern piece written and arranged in the style of such. That is the tricky part. It is not classical music written back in that period, it is a modern piece written in that style.
I’d like to obtain a recording of it. It is a piece I have to have in my music collection, and I’d love nothing more in the world then to know what specific album that particular piece of music I am talking about that plays on that channel on the times provided, is on, so I can go about my own merit in obtaining a recording of it for myself. If Dish Network were to agree to send me a recording of this particular piece I promise to use it only for personal use and return it very quickly at my own expense. I’d like the opportunity to listen to this piece of music whenever I want. There has to be some sort of service or someone you could possibly point me to that could identify this specific recording and help me get a copy of it in the event that Dish Network cannot provide me with a private recording.
There has to be someone who knows because in order for the same song (amongst many other same songs) to play repeatedly on that channel, the recording had to be submitted into the channel’s music rotation. I wish we could pinpoint whom put it there and when.
I also have been curious, that even though XM/Sirius radio is a competitor of Dish Netowrk, if this particular song plays on their “Easy Instrumentals” channel playlist as well.
Please kindly get back to me and let me know one way or another what you’d be willing to do to help me out. There has got to be someone out there that not only knows, but has a recording of this particular piece of music themselves.
I am trying very hard to find out what it is, and spent many hours on Google, Amazon sound samples, etc… and have come up with nothing. I posted my request on message boards, etc…
Here is the tricky part. It is not a piece of classical music written back in the days of the great composers, it is a modernly-composed classical piece written in the same musical style of music coming from Bach’s time, using a trumpet, a piano, and maybe a synthesizer.
If Dish Network cannot make a private recording of this, there has to be a way to find out specifically what album and CD it comes from so I can go about purchasing a copy for myself. I kindly ask that you please write me back and let me know.
I need your help getting a recording of it, but Dish Network has not been able to return my e-mails about it. I guess they are busy. Is there anyone out there who can help me get a recording of this wonerful piece of music so I can listen to myself? Can things like Craigslist be used as a tool to ask a question like this.
I kindly ask of your help.
