Please ID this garden weed? TX, USA

This is north of the DFW area. The garden where these are sprouting is near a cleared but undeveloped field, so seeds are probably blowing in.

Do the leaves look familiar to anyone here?

My WAG - possibly wild-type Gaillardia seedlings.

Compare to the third image from the top in this thread.

Blanket flower is a possibility, as I do see them blooming in roadside fields. Thanks!

Any other possible suggestions?

May be a coomon plantain (Plantago major)? Just a quick Google search of images for ease of verifying for OP. What ya think, OP?

No…that’s a Composite. Gaillardia seems as good a guess as any. But it’s definitely in the Compositae…the leaves immediately reminded me of Chrysanthemum.

Here’s a close-up of a youngish Gaillardia from Google image search. Looks pretty darn close-enough for saying more-likely Gaillardia, IMHO. Leaves generally vary a bit (of mant flowering species, IME, during maturing period, so its hard to say exactly, of course.
