I at home after a long day in the office so I needed to relax my mind. I started watching “Cannons for Cordova” which was a cheesy western/adventure with George Peppard. It reminded me of a movie I saw when I was very young but I can’t recall the title.
The movie was, I believe, set in Spain during the Napoleonic wars (I think) and revolved round a rebel group moving a very large canon. It looked liked a typical cannon with cannon balls etc. except for the fact that the thing was huge. The wheels were about the height of two men. Anyhoo, the two main characters dragged this cannon around until they finally used it in battle. At the end of the movie one of the main characters dies and the other main character lays him by the cannon/statue of the Virgin Mary.
Any thoughts? I am thinking late 50’s to mid 60’s. The film was in colour and I think it had a major US star in it. Thanks!
