I finally found the link. It’s from further back than I thought, 6/9/2001. It’s in the first couple lines of the “Not My Job” section that explains the changing of the voice: “It was more comfortable, and you know Homer wants to be comfortable.” He also runs through the different voices he does for the Simpsons.
