Please nominate people for the 2005 J.W. Booth Awards

Each year I choose two lucky recipients for the John Wilkes Booth Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Misguided Political Activism. (I thought of making that one male only with the “Eva Duarte Peron Award” for actresses, but I’ll stick with uniform. Last year’s winners were Sean Penn and Britney Spears (actress is debatable, but she does have credits).

Please nominate some folks. I am adding Jane Fonda to the list this year as she’s back in the news reliving glory days (she has claimed “youthful exuberance”, though she was 35 at the time), but must confess I’m having a harder time than usual this year. Actors can be left or right, but their views or actions must be appropriately sensationalistic or misinformed and or self aggrandizing/masturbatory, not just your regular “I’m Matt Damon and I’m supporting Kerry” type stuff.

Thanks
J

Are athletes eligible? 'Cause Curt Schilling is just begging for an award like this. He’s got an IMDB page, if that helps.

I’ll take him, thanks.

And Mel Gibson for his manic rantings on the Schiavo case. (It’s not that I disagreed with what he said so much as his over the top carpet chewing on the phone-in, and of course misspelling her name in his official statement.)

Good God, they should have an annual lifetime achievement version of this award for Mickey Moore.
That said, I would pick for the regular award Pamela Anderson for her support of PETA.
