Very true. Microsoft is strangely good at getting all the drivers you need. That said, I have run into a missing driver problem a few times. Mostly no big deal, the PC works and you just download and install what is needed once all is running. However, once I needed a driver to continue the Windows install and that was a major pain. That’s rare though and very unlikely unless you have some peculiar setup (in which case you likely know…or should).
I remember doing Windows installs where the install proceeded at 640x480 or another lesser resolution, which made it difficult to see everything properly, and only later was I able to get the correct driver installed.
Ha! I remember that too! Good times ![]()
To be honest, if the OP or another user isn’t completely comfortable with a wipe and reinstall, I would just take the computer as it is. If it comes with a trial version of McAfee, uninstall it from the Settings menu or download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool and use that. There’s not really much bloatware on a typical PC today. (AOL, for instance, doesn’t come on them any longer.)
