Please recommend a portable mp3 player based on this criteria

It’s not easy to find good reviews on the internet. They are either old or poorly organized. Oh well.

I need a PC based mp3 player, not cd because i don’t have a burner. So that leaves hard drive or flashmemory based. I want to be able to navigate through the songs and not have to go in order like with the Bantam 350. Portability is key, as is durability. Im not sure if flashmemory necessarily means you can use those cards or whether they sometimes only use internal memory. If not, then I want one that has the option to use those cards. Any ideas would be appreciated. Money isn’t too much of an object. Thanks

MP3 players: the next generation- Ipod Nomad Rio

You might consider the Toshiba Gigabeat. It’s similar in size and functionality to Apple’s iPod, but uses the faster USB 2.0 interface, and plays WMA files in addition to MP3.

I have the Creative Labs Nomad, it’s great. I have almost 1,000 songs on there. It was quite pricey, but well worth it.

If portability is key, the iPod wins, hands down. Try sticking a Nomad in a shirt pocket sometime.
