I kind of liked the Glades. It was set in Florida, and it always had some good Florida scenery and culture going for it (unlike, say, that Law & Order series or maybe it was a CSI series set in Miami that just had the occasional stock shot of girls on the beach and Latin American drug lords representing Florida). The protagonist was impossibly smug and the love interest plot line was really dull, but the mysteries were kinda fun. If they’d dropped the whiny-ass love interest, would have been GREAT. But definitely watchable if you like Florida.
Well, House of Cards isn’t over yet, but it’s very good.
I’ll second Firefly, Star Trek: The Original Series and Sherlock.
Happy Valley (one season out now)
Line of Duty (two seasons out…first is better)
The Fall (two seasons out…VERY intense)
I could have sworn I posted in this thread already, but, oh well…
We just started the third season of ** Death in Paradise** prepared to hate it, but find that we really like it. Can’t say more than that, sorry
Just read that it’s been renewed for a second season, but [b Grace and Frankie** is very good, and I’m someone who dislikes Jane Fonda a lot. From Wikipedia: The series follows Grace, a retired cosmetics mogul, and Frankie, a hippie art teacher, whose husbands, Robert and Sol, are successful divorce lawyers in San Diego. Grace and Frankie’s lives are turned upside down when Robert and Sol announce that they are in love with each other and are leaving their wives. Now, the women, who have never particularly liked each other, are forced to live together and support each other as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
We watched all of Rosemary and Thyme two British gardeners who solve murders, which seem to happen wherever they go. Not great, but pretty good, and the actors are entertaining.
Well, you could watch the original UK House of Cards trilogy, on which the series starring Kevin Spacey was based.
Really? Nobody has mentioned “Granite Flats”? I’ve been riveted to this show for the last month.
According to http://www.netflix.com/search/terriers, Terriers is on Netflix in the USA. As is Life, starring Damien Lewis but Donal Logue comes in during the second season. Life is well worth watching and even though it only lasted 2 seasons the big mystery is solved.
I just finished watching the first season of Bloodline and it appears a second season is coming next year. I wasn’t sure I was going to stick with it, but it turned out to be rather addictive. I’ve got some ideas about what may be revealed in the next season, based on unanswered questions in the first season. If you don’t like being kept hanging, wait till next year and watch it all.
