Please recommend a thorough book on body's processes WRT diabetes/insulin/etc.

What book would you medical-type people recommend with which to understand diabetes, insulin, etc., (that is, what happens and when and how and why) for someone who is not a specialist or expert in biology or science or medicine? What matters is the book’s/books’ thoroughness and graspability by a layperson.

(I am unsure as to whether this would go in Cafe Society or IMHO. If this is in the wrong place, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.)

I know you wanted a print book but that should suffice until someone else has a better recommendation.

Thank you very much.

You could do a lot worse than checking out the following sites (which are replete with informative articles and links):

From the NIDDK at the NIH

From the American Diabetes Association (especially the “All About Diabetes” section and the links within links therein)
