I’m looking for a new backup program for my Windows 10 PC. I have been using Acronis True Image but a few months ago, I set up Storage Spaces, a sort of software-based RAID, and Acronis True Image does not support Storage Spaces. So I’m looking for a new backup program that can backup the stuff in Storage Spaces. (FYI, I want to backup the PC to external USB drives. Separately, I use a cloud-based backup service, but want a local backup.)
Macrium Reflect might handle it. Yes, looks like it does
Thank you for the suggestion. I looked at Macrium Reflect, and it looks good but it’s seventy bucks. And it’s not available at a discount through Amazon or anyone else so I would have to buy it from them. And Acronis True Image does seem to be at the top of reviews of backup software. So I looked at my PC again and found that it does support RAID though Intel Rapid Storage Technology software. So I copied everything off the Storage Spaces drive, deleted the store, created a RAID-1 array and put everything back. And then I was able to successfully back it all up using Acronis True Image.
(BTW, this is an example of why it’s a good idea to test backups. I thought the Acronis software was backing up the Storage Spaces drive because the backup looked large enough but then I looked and it showed the drive letter in the backup but it was empty.)
I believe EaseUS supports Windows Storage Spaces.
I like how easy it is to restore backups. It goes on sale quite a bit and the free version is limited, you might be able to try the feature out at no cost, to see if you like it.
I thought File History supported Storage Spaces. If so, wouldn’t it work?
