Pocket PC owners - Always having to reset?

I seem to need to reset my ipaq at least every day that I use it. Today it was media player that had crashed.

Also I find it strange that there’s such an un-obvious way of accessing running programs. I wonder if ‘novice’ users have never realized that once you run something it keeps running and that to speed things up you have to go into the control panel->memory and turn off running programs. I do remember seeing someone say that since they got theirs it’s got slower and slower. Why doesn’t Pocket PC (2003) have a drop-up menu of running programs to close? Why don’t the programs themselves have buttons to shut them off properly?

There’s a program out there called vBar, which I find very handy. It takes up virtually no resources, and works pretty well (the “Close All” function takes the place of going into the Control Panel). It’s not perfect, but it’s better than what Pocket PC gives you.

Not sure if I’m allowed to post a link to the site, but a Google search on vbar will bring up the site.

There should be an icon in the programs folder called “iTask.” It brings up a list of all currently running programs.

As for the resetting issue, my iPaq (an older model than yours, I think) only crashes about twice a month, usually when trying to load a webpage.

My 3630 never crashes. I guess that means I’m not doing enough neat things with it.
