Podunk Article

Dear Cecil, How ironic the article in this email regarding a town called “Podunk” - I was born in a little town called Wadena, Iowa and every since I was a little girl, my parents always referred to Wadena as “Podunk” - and that stuck for years in my mind. They said Podunk derived from an Indian name - and Wadena was an Indian name, but I never knew anymore history than what my parents told me when I was a little girl. I am now 65 years old and Podunk will always be a greater part of my upbringing history  Thank you for the memories

Sincerely,

I was in a bar in FLA and the tender asked me where I was from and I said “Podunk PA.” He had never heard the term and thought that Podunk was a real town in PA.
